About the funder
The Walther Blohm Foundation is a non-profit foundation under civil law, established in 1964 in memory of Walther Blohm by his wife and three children. It supports talented young professionals in the field of aerospace engineering by providing grants for studies, further training of young engineers, doctoral research, study trips, and technical projects. Each year, it also awards the Walther Blohm Sponsorship Prize to the best graduate of HAW Hamburg and the Walther Blohm Study Prize to students of TU Berlin. The allocation of funds is decided by the foundation’s board, which includes senior employees and professors from Airbus, HAW Hamburg, and TU Hamburg-Harburg.

We support lifelong learning, professional excellence, and the innovative strength of young engineers and scientists through financial assistance, study trips, and project funding – in the spirit of Walther Blohm's visionary entrepreneurial spirit.
Target groups
The Walther Blohm Foundation targets talented and financially needy young professionals in the field of aerospace engineering. This includes students at technical universities and universities of applied sciences, doctoral candidates, young engineers, as well as university project groups. Funding criteria are excellent academic performance, extracurricular commitment, and a demonstrable need for professional development, for example, for stays abroad, study trips, or technical projects.
