About the funder

The Westfalen Sport-Stiftung is a non-profit foundation under civil law based in Kamen, recognized in 2010 by the Arnsberg District Government. Founded by the Football and Athletics Association of Westfalen (FLVW), it aims to sustainably promote sports in Westfalen. The focus is on football and athletics as well as children’s, youth, and club sports. The foundation supports innovative youth club work, cooperation between schools and sports clubs, action days on sports-related topics, health-oriented mass sports events, qualification measures for trainers, immediate assistance for clubs in distress, and grants for socially disadvantaged athletes.

Mission & Vision

Acting through sport, impacting society: The Westfalen Sport-Stiftung operates at the intersection of sport and society to provide impetus for education, integration, and social participation. Through its commitment, it strengthens children’s, youth, and club sports, promotes intercultural exchange, inclusion, as well as violence and extremism prevention, thereby contributing to the positive development of sports clubs and schools in Westphalia.

Target groups

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, in particular member clubs of the Football and Athletics Association of Westphalia (FLVW) as well as schools in Westphalia. Applications can be submitted by clubs and public-law institutions that implement projects related to youth and club work, educational and integration measures, action days, or health-oriented sports events. Furthermore, socially disadvantaged athletes in the children and youth sector can be supported directly.
