Will und Liselott Masgeik-Stiftung für Natur- und Landschaftsschutz

Private foundation

About the funder

The Will and Liselott Masgeik Foundation for Nature and Landscape Conservation is a private foundation established in 1992, based in Molsberg in the Westerwald region. It owns approximately 18 hectares of protected areas, including the nature reserve "Hartenberg/Steincheswiese" with the Molsberg Nature Conservation Station. The foundation manages and develops its own areas, documents population changes in trees, shrubs, flowering plants, dragonflies, grasshoppers, butterflies, and birds through long-term monitoring, and conducts scientific surveys—among others on wildcats, woodpeckers, swallows, as well as amphibians and reptiles—throughout the entire Westerwald. Furthermore, it cooperates closely with universities, supervises internships and theses, collaborates with conservation organizations and authorities, and offers an extensive training and event program for various target groups.
