Willibald Schmidt Stiftung

Private foundation

About the funder

The Willibald Schmidt Foundation Beilngries was established by entrepreneur and engineer Willibald Schmidt (1933–2012) to support local projects in the district of Eichstätt. Schmidt developed the company Gebrüder Schmidt (now part of Bühler AG) into a globally active manufacturer of grain processing equipment. By transferring his company to the foundation, he pursued social objectives: education, upbringing, art, culture, monument preservation, youth and elderly care, as well as environmental, landscape, and species protection, and science/research in the city of Beilngries and the Altmühltal Nature Park.
