About the funder
The Willy Richter Foundation was established in 2003 by Willy Richter, a native of Minden, as a non-profit foundation under civil law and is recognized by the Detmold District Government. Its headquarters are located in the historic building in Minden's old town (Schillerstraße 35c, 32427 Minden). The foundation's capital was increased in 2010 through an additional endowment from the founder's estate. Since its inception, the foundation has primarily supported projects in youth and elderly care, sports, as well as assistance for those politically, racially, or religiously persecuted, refugees, and displaced persons in the Minden area.

Mission & Vision
The Willy Richter Foundation is committed to strengthening social cohesion in the hometown of Minden and supporting sustainable projects that offer participation and opportunities to disadvantaged individuals, especially the young and elderly generations as well as refugees and persecuted persons. By promoting sports programs and intergenerational initiatives, the foundation creates meeting places that foster integration and enhance the sense of community in the region.
Target groups
Only non-profit organizations (e.g., schools, associations, foundations) operating in the city of Minden or the district of Minden-Lübbecke are eligible for funding. Applicants must be project sponsors in the fields of youth and elderly care, sports, as well as assistance for those politically, racially, or religiously persecuted, refugees, and displaced persons. Individual persons are not eligible for funding.
