Wim Wenders Stiftung

The Wim Wenders Foundation is a non-profit legal foundation under civil law based in Düsseldorf with an office in Berlin. It safeguards, preserves, and disseminates the complete artistic oeuvre of the director Wim Wenders and promotes artistic, scientific, and educational exchange with cultural, research, and educational institutions. Its responsibilities include the digital restoration and worldwide accessibility of films, the awarding of the Wim Wenders Scholarship in cooperation with the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, as well as the development of film education projects for schools and universities.

The Wim Wenders Foundation is committed to the preservation, restoration, and dissemination of European film heritage. It promotes innovative cinematic storytelling and interdisciplinary exchange between filmmakers, academia, and education. Through support for emerging talent, masterclasses, and school film education programs, it aims to inspire enthusiasm for film as an art form and foster critical media discourse.

The funding programs of the Wim Wenders Foundation are aimed at young filmmakers (Wim Wenders Scholarship in cooperation with the Film and Media Foundation NRW), academics and researchers (access to archival materials, support for scholarly publications and symposia), children and adolescents (film education project "A European School of Seeing"), as well as cultural and educational institutions and educators who wish to integrate film content into their teaching.
