Wübben Wissenschaftsstiftung gGmbH

The Wübben Wissenschaftsstiftung gGmbH is a private funding foundation based in Berlin. Founded in 2023 by Dr. Walter Wübben, it focuses on the targeted support of outstanding international scientists at various career stages as well as promising students in Germany. With a broad program portfolio – ranging from professorship funding programs to seminars and workshops to student grants – the foundation contributes to strengthening Germany as a competitive and internationally visible location for science.

The Wübben Science Foundation sees itself as a strategic partner of German universities and promotes excellent research and teaching through the principle of enabling. It enables top scientists from abroad to come to Germany; universities to complete appointment procedures efficiently; students in their final year of study to fully focus on their graduation and own research projects; unconventional scientific ideas to gain a platform; and university administrations to receive valuable impulses through peer-to-peer coaching.

The funding activities are aimed at outstanding international scientists (from tenure-track professorships to advanced professorships), excellent research-enthusiastic students in their final year of study (Student Grant), university and higher education leadership (coaching programs), as well as research networks and interdisciplinary teams (sandpit workshops).
