About the funder
The German YFU Foundation is a non-profit foundation of the Youth For Understanding Committee e.V., dedicated to enabling intercultural exchange for young people from all social backgrounds. In accordance with its statutes, it promotes educational projects that empower young people to develop understanding and appreciation across cultural boundaries. In addition to scholarships for financial support, the foundation builds bridges where encouragement is lacking to achieve equal opportunities in exchange programs. It operates independently of the association's budget and supports YFU's passion projects through endowments and donations.

Mission & Vision
We create a world in which people gain understanding and appreciation for other cultures as well as their own across cultural boundaries, and in which independent individuals, driven by democratic conviction, take responsibility for society with passion and joy.
Target groups
The funding measures are aimed at young people whose family or financial situation would otherwise make a student exchange impossible. The foundation particularly supports young people from socially or educationally disadvantaged families with income-dependent scholarships and accompanying programs to provide them access to intercultural learning and development opportunities.
