About the funder
The Lower Forestry Authority at the Ostalbkreis District Office is part of the State Forestry Administration of Baden-Württemberg and is responsible for forest management within the Ostalbkreis area. It consolidates all forestry-related tasks for municipal and private forest owners on site. These include, among others, forest protection (prevention and control of forest damage), forestry supervision (monitoring compliance with forestry regulations), professional planning for local forest management, as well as environmental education and forest pedagogy. In municipal forests, it also assumes technical operational management, and in private forests, it provides consultation, support, and technical assistance.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is the sustainable and multifunctional management of forests in the Ostalb district. We are committed to preserving the protective, utilitarian, and recreational functions of the forest and provide competent advice, support, and forestry supervision on-site to both municipal and private forest owners. Through close cooperation, we promote vital forests that meet the challenges of climate change and the needs of society.
Target groups
Our services are aimed at all forest owners in the Ostalb district – including both municipal bodies and private forest owners. We support them in sustainable forest management, forest planning, applying for and implementing funding measures, as well as protecting their forests from pests, storm damage, and other hazards.
