Description
The program "100 times 500 for Democracy" supports volunteer initiatives in Rhineland-Palatinate that strengthen democratic education and social cohesion at places of learning and living. Public institutions, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, as well as projects without legal status, school and student initiatives, and recognized church congregations and religious communities can receive one-time grants of up to €500. Eligible costs include material expenses (e.g., public relations, room rental, event technology) and fees for moderation or expert contributions. For an application amount of €500, at least 10% own funds must be provided; funding can cover up to 90% of eligible expenses. Political party advertising as well as the acquisition of furniture, inventory, or technology for use after the project ends are excluded.
Applications can be submitted until October 31, 2026, and must be received before the planned measure begins. A commitment to the free democratic basic order and the pursuit of the program’s objectives are prerequisites. The funding decision is made by the Volunteer and Citizen Participation Coordination Office of the State Chancellery of Rhineland-Palatinate within the framework of available budgetary funds and at its discretion. There is no legal obligation to grant funding. The program is aimed at all those who want to implement discussion events, networking formats, or actions against exclusion, discrimination, and extremism with smaller projects, thereby promoting diversity, tolerance, and solidarity locally.
