In North Rhine-Westphalia, the funding initiative 100 additional training places for young people and young adults with disabilities opens barrier-free pathways to high-quality vocational training for young people. With funds from the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Federal Employment Agency, monthly subsidies of €800 per training place are provided for a maximum of 24 months. The goal is to strengthen the individual learning biography of disabled participants through professional support and to create sustainable prospects in the primary labor market. The program relies on close cooperation between vocational training providers, training companies, and social institutions and promotes the reduction of prejudices by highlighting the positive contribution of these skilled workers to the workplace climate and productivity.
Eligible to apply are providers of vocational education in North Rhine-Westphalia, educational institutions, and private individuals authorized to provide training under the Vocational Training Act or the Crafts Code. Funding requirements include disability-specific support for trainees as well as practical training that takes place more than 50% within companies in the primary labor market. Additionally, socio-pedagogical support, individualized remedial and support lessons, and coaching are offered to specifically develop individual competencies. The funding, in the form of a non-repayable grant, is continuously available and supports each trainee for up to 24 months with up to €800 per month.
