Funding objective
The villages and rural communities in Burgenland are to be preserved, renewed, and further developed in their character as living, working, and social spaces as well as in their independent culture. The goal is to improve the living conditions of the local residents, secure the economic existence of the villages, ensure architectural and cultural distinctiveness, strengthen autonomy, and counteract migration from structurally weak areas. Existing local resources (water, landscape, local energy and raw material carriers, regional products, performance potentials of the population) are to be used sustainably, secured, and further developed. Additionally, measures to increase value creation in agriculture and forestry, tourism, business and trade, as well as to strengthen structures important to the common good such as services, local supply, regional learning, and social innovation, are supported.
