Funding objective
Within the scope of the measure, energy and environmental initiatives implemented by municipalities in Burgenland are to be supported. This aims to make a significant contribution to reducing pollution from air contaminants and climate-relevant gases, as well as to saving or replacing fossil energy sources. Furthermore, the measure is intended to contribute to achieving the objectives of the "Climate & Energy Strategy" of the state of Burgenland.

Description
The investment promotion for energy efficiency in Burgenland municipalities supports public authorities in Burgenland in implementing measures to reduce air pollutants and climate-relevant gases. The goal is a substantial reduction of fossil energy sources and a contribution to the "Climate & Energy Strategy" of the state. Projects with a minimum volume of 200,000 euros, to be realized within 18 months, are eligible for funding. The grant amounts to up to 50% of eligible costs, but no more than 200,000 euros per project. Evaluation criteria include, among others, the positive environmental impact (CO₂ reduction), the increase in final energy efficiency, ecological sustainability, and the competence of the project sponsor.
Eligible for funding are all Burgenland municipalities that submit their projects electronically via the e-cohesion portal ATES and present a detailed action plan. A prerequisite is an increase in final energy efficiency of at least 30%, as well as the installation or existing use of a photovoltaic system (≥ 20 kWp) and participation in a renewable energy community according to ElWOG § 16c. Applications can be submitted continuously from 01.01.2021 to 31.12.2030. Eligible expenses include, in addition to planning and construction measures, initial acquisition costs for vehicles, plant investments, hardware and software, as well as commissioning by authorized companies. Non-eligible costs include, among others, fee-based services, in-kind contributions, used goods, and invoices under 150 euros. Processing is carried out by the Burgenland Business Agency.
