Description
The EFRE Additionality Program "Cultural Resources and Offerings in Connection with Tourism" in Burgenland supports investment and soft measures aimed at preserving tangible and intangible cultural heritage in conjunction with cultural tourism offerings. Eligible applicants include public institutions, interest groups, associations, as well as private and public enterprises from the fields of culture, regional development, and agriculture. Projects that contribute to the preservation of historic buildings and cultural traditions, simultaneously develop high-quality tourist offerings, and provide impetus for contemporary cultural innovations are funded. The program supports strengthening cultural market access, regional profiling, and the long-term securing of value chains in cultural tourism. Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2030, with funding rates of up to 100% of eligible costs.
Grants are awarded for investment costs, material and personnel expenses, as well as marketing and public relations expenditures. Selection is based on the following criteria: contribution to the preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, improvement of cultural offerings, integration of cultural tourism elements, and cultural economic potentials. Funded measures include, among others, restoration or renovation of monuments, acquisition of technical equipment for cultural sites, digital inventorying, as well as the conception and promotion of event formats and networks. The goal is a sustainable diversification of Burgenland tourism, securing regional jobs, and raising awareness of cultural identity. The total budget amounts to 11 million euros, provided by the European Regional Development Fund and the State of Burgenland.
