The EFRE Additionality Program – Tourism and Leisure Enterprises supports small and medium-sized enterprises in Burgenland's tourism and leisure sector with necessary investments in innovations. Within the framework of regional funding, grants of up to 30% on eligible investment costs are available to sustainably strengthen competitiveness. Funding is provided for modernizations and new developments in existing businesses as well as for the establishment of innovative tourism enterprises. The measure places special emphasis on the creation and safeguarding of jobs, the increase of quality and innovation levels, and the tourism relevance of planned projects. Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2030.
With a focus on high value creation and employment effects, the Burgenland Economic Agency, as the primary contact, supports projects that aim to position new products and offerings internationally in the long term and establish sustainable business models. Internationalization, climate protection, and year-round tourism are among the strategic priorities aligned with regional initiatives on energy efficiency and regional development. The funding amount varies depending on the measure between 10% and 30% of the eligible expenses. Applications are submitted through a digital submission process; the decision is made by the State of Burgenland. Through the combination of EU co-financing and regional support, the program makes an important contribution to strengthening the domestic tourism and leisure industry – innovation and growth are specifically promoted.
