Description
The EFRE Additionality Program for Tourist Activities and Infrastructure in Burgenland supports the further development and enhancement of regional tourism with a total budget of €2.5 million. The focus is on strengthening year-round quality tourism as well as targeted networking with Burgenland Tourismus GmbH and other tourism organizations. Funding is provided to public institutions, interest groups, associations, and companies implementing tourism offers or infrastructure projects in Burgenland. The program is aimed at municipalities, tourism associations, nature park clubs, as well as Burgenland Tourismus GmbH and private actors contributing to the state tourism strategy. With a funding rate of up to 75%, both investments in new and existing tourist infrastructures and measures for the brand communication “Burgenland” are supported. Ongoing submissions allow flexible project planning without a fixed deadline.
Eligible costs include hardware and software, investments in structural and technical facilities, personnel costs, material costs, marketing measures, external services, and planning costs. Evaluation is based on the potential to increase year-round tourism, the quality and sustainability of the offers, as well as cooperation with other regional economic sectors (such as wine, gastronomy, culture, sports, or health). Projects that generate synergies with service providers and address excursion and stay guests increase their chances of success. With regard to the state tourism strategy, special emphasis is placed on barrier-free accessibility, climate protection aspects, and brand communication. Private and public actors can continuously contact the Office of the Burgenland State Government – Department 9 “Social and Climate Fund Burgenland” – to coordinate project ideas and prepare submissions.
