Additionality - ERDF - Implementation of Regional Governance

The funding program "Additionality – ERDF – Implementation of Regional Governance" is aimed at public institutions, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and companies based in Burgenland, offering an attractive 100% grant to strengthen regional governance structures. The focus is on building and networking state, municipal, and civil society actors to provide a coordinated interface between top-down impulses and bottom-up initiatives. Personnel costs, material costs, external services, and overheads are funded for projects creating network platforms, process facilitation, professional consulting, and digital tools. The goal is to sustainably intensify horizontal and vertical cooperation and to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of regional development until December 31, 2030.

Interested applicants, including municipalities and their organizations, the Burgenland Economic Agency GmbH, research institutions, as well as civil society institutions and associations, have been able to submit applications since January 1, 2021. Membership in the defined target groups and a Burgenland location are prerequisites. Selection is based on the criteria of increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of program implementation as well as contributing to a coordinated and targeted regional policy. This funding instrument creates the framework conditions for sustainable regional development: from village development and smart city approaches to initiatives for social cohesion and digital transformation. The Burgenland state government thus supports the continuous dialogue of all local actors and specifically promotes projects with the potential to strengthen the quality of life and competitiveness of the regions in the long term.
