Description

The funding program “Advanced manufacturing for key products (IA)” within the “Made in Europe” partnership targets industrial companies, technology providers, and research institutions in the EU and associated countries that aim to develop pioneering production methods for strategically relevant products. The objective is to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness through novel manufacturing technologies while simultaneously increasing resource and energy efficiency. Particular emphasis is placed on circular processes, for example through increased use of secondary raw materials and innovative materials such as lightweight or self-healing materials. Project proposals must clearly identify a problem statement and include a solid business case concept with an initial exploitation strategy. Selection will consider both the level of innovation and the societal and economic impacts in relation to EU goals. A central component is the integration of the latest digitalization approaches to design production processes that are resource-efficient and interconnected.

Grants in the form of subsidies ranging from EUR 6–8 million per project (funding rate up to 70%) are available for SMEs and start-ups. The maximum duration is 36 months. Non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and public bodies are also eligible to apply, provided they are registered in the Participant Register with a valid PIC. Eligible costs include personnel, travel, and material expenses as well as services from external subcontractors; retrospective costs and real estate investments are excluded. In addition to the standard application form, a detailed project description as well as a financing and CV concept for key personnel are required for the application. The deadline is 02/02/2027 (17:00 Brussels time). Projects that make a substantial contribution to the Green Deal and digital transformation have particularly strong chances of receiving funding.
