Description
The Agricultural Investment Promotion Program (AFP Guideline) in Saxony-Anhalt offers agricultural enterprises low-interest default guarantees and grants for modernization projects. Funding is provided for construction, machinery, and engineering investments with an investment volume ranging from €20,000 to €5 million. The aim is to enhance the competitiveness and value creation of micro-enterprises as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Environmental and climate protection aspects, as well as animal welfare, are central: investments in livestock buildings that meet the highest animal welfare standards and specific climate protection measures are considered, as well as irrigation projects achieving at least 15% water savings.
Eligible applicants are enterprises based in Saxony-Anhalt that generate at least 25% of their annual turnover from land cultivation or animal husbandry and report an annual turnover of no more than €10 million. Funding rates vary depending on the project category from 20% to 40% of eligible expenses. An investment concept demonstrating professional competence as well as a financing plan are mandatory application documents. The application must be submitted to the responsible authority before the start of the project; applications can be made once for investment projects from 2023 to 2027, with the final deadline being December 31, 2027. Funding is provided in close coordination with the Office for Agriculture, Land Consolidation and Forestry (ALFF) and the Investment Bank of Saxony-Anhalt.
