Description

The Agricultural Investment Loans (AIK) offer Austrian agricultural enterprises in all federal states low-interest financing options for operational investments within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027. As direct subsidies for interest expenses, they support operators in taking out loans for modernizations and expansions without financing the repayment of the loan principal through subsidies. Applications can be submitted continuously, provided the federal subsidy is granted and supplemented by a state subsidy amounting to two-thirds of the federal contribution. Eligible for funding are operators who have established their agricultural enterprises in Burgenland, Carinthia, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg, or Vienna.

The AIK interest subsidies aim to sustainably increase the competitiveness, income, and overall performance of agricultural enterprises. Furthermore, the funded investments contribute to improved animal and environmental protection, higher hygiene and food quality, as well as more efficient production processes and optimized infrastructure. For the application, netted invoice documents and, in the case of construction measures, proof of construction progress must be submitted. Payment is made as a subsidy for interest expenses and is subject to administrative, on-site, and ex-post controls. This measure can make a sustainable contribution to resource conservation and the strengthening of the rural economy.
