Family Vacation Campaign

The funding initiative “Family Vacation Action” supports socially and health-wise disadvantaged families as well as single parents with at least one child in realizing a joint recreational vacation in Carinthia. Accommodation and full board for a period of seven to eight days in selected family guesthouses and holiday villages are funded. Residency in Carinthia, health or social indication, as well as proven limited financial means, constitute the central eligibility criteria. A moderate co-payment must be made before the start of the vacation measure to ensure the family’s cost participation. The state government selects the accommodations based on social and economic criteria, thereby ensuring barrier-free access as well as family-friendly programs that sustainably strengthen cohesion within the family community.

The application deadline is announced annually in February/March; an ongoing funding procedure allows recurring applications without a fixed end date. For the application, a completed form and current income proofs are required, which must be submitted to the responsible district administrative authority. The aim of the measure is the equal participation of children and adolescents in recreational opportunities to promote their individual development. Parents and children thus experience a break in a family atmosphere that combines relaxation, leisure activities, and social support. The Family Vacation Action therefore provides important support for Carinthian families who would otherwise be unable to realize a joint vacation for financial reasons.
