Description
The Emergency Alliance Culture Action Fund is aimed at cultural institutions that are organized as non-profit or public-law entities and serves to strengthen their crisis and hazard management systems. With a maximum funding amount of €5,000, the fund supports smaller cultural institutions in implementing sustainable measures for emergency aid and prevention. Funding is provided for investments in emergency equipment, the conduct of training sessions, the development of emergency plans, as well as internal workshops to raise awareness in the area of risk and hazard management. The measures should have supraregional applicability, be exemplary, and reusable or transferable to other contexts. Through targeted funding, the resilience of institutional systems is to be strengthened in order to effectively meet challenges such as extreme weather events, floods, fires, or vandalism.
The financing aims to further develop culture-related risk management concepts and embed them into existing strategies. Applicants, i.e., cultural institutions – including those run on a voluntary basis – as well as non-profit project sponsors with a clear cultural focus, have the opportunity to apply for funding. A prerequisite for application is proof of integration of the measure into an existing risk and hazard management concept, as well as the preparation of a written final report after the project’s completion. Prior to submitting the application, a consultation with the Cultural Foundation of the Federal States is required to ensure that the planned measure is optimally integrated into the existing structure. The fund thus offers a nationwide funding opportunity for all who wish to make an effective contribution to the protection and sustainable preservation of cultural assets.
