Description
The Action Fund Partnership for Democracy (PfD) Bergedorf supports innovative projects in the Hamburg-Bergedorf district with a low-threshold grant program that strengthens democratic coexistence, diversity, and civic engagement locally. Eligible applicants include private individuals (up to €1,000), non-profit organizations, associations, initiatives, and educational institutions. Funding is provided for activities and formats that promote democracy, tolerance, and diversity; projects against group-focused enmity; creative, cultural, or sporting events with a democracy-educational focus; as well as low-threshold offers for children, youth, and families. The funding amount ranges from €1,001 to €5,000 with a 100% funding rate. Funds may be used, among other things, for material costs, room rentals, fees, and public relations. The goal is to strengthen democratic values, prevent extremism, and reduce social barriers through direct, citizen-centered participation formats.
Applications can be submitted year-round and are decided promptly by the Coordination and Specialist Office of the Bergedorf-Bille Foundation in coordination with the accompanying committee. Applications are made using a standardized form, to which a project description, a timeline, and a simple statement of expenses and income must be attached. A funding commitment enables the project to start as soon as all required documents have been submitted. After project completion, a brief report and a simple financial statement with receipts and a participant list must be submitted. The Partnership for Democracy Bergedorf and the federal program “Living Democracy!” must be acknowledged as funding partners in all publications. This offer is aimed at all local actors who wish to contribute to a lively, solidarity-based cohesion in Bergedorf through creative and participatory formats.
