Description

The action guideline “Aid for Research and Development Projects” supports innovative research and development projects by companies with a business location in Burgenland. The aim is to increase the innovation capacity and competitiveness of the regional economy as well as to raise the research quota in Burgenland. Eligible for funding are natural and legal persons as well as registered partnerships of all sizes – from micro and small to large enterprises. Applicants must simultaneously submit an application to the FFG Basic Program and submit their application before the project starts. Requirements include a business location in Burgenland, parallel submission to the FFG Basic Program, and the submission of complete application documents prior to project commencement.

Eligible costs include personnel expenses, usage costs for R&D infrastructure, third-party services, material and supply costs, as well as patent and travel expenses. The grant rate ranges between 20% and 50% of the recognized expenses depending on the project type; SMEs can receive an additional bonus of up to 20%. Approval depends on the substantive quality of the project, the company size, and the state aid assessment. Applications can be submitted at any time, provided they are made before the planned start of the research activity. The application must include the completed application form, the annex, a preliminary budget, and the guideline (valid from 01.01.2024). This funding makes a significant contribution to the optimization and commercialization of research results and offers Burgenland companies equitable support on the path to pioneering products and processes.
