Description
The Alfried Krupp Science College Greifswald invites established scientists and early-career researchers from all disciplines to apply for Senior and Junior Fellowships. The aim of this generous funding initiative is to realize innovative, interdisciplinary projects and thereby strengthen the research priorities of the University of Greifswald in the long term. During their research stay, the fellows receive an attractive stipend as well as rent- and operating cost-free accommodation in fully furnished apartments and a dedicated workspace within the college. The institutional embedding on site fosters a lively scientific exchange, which also enables the fellows to offer courses for students and to build regional networks. Interdisciplinary group applications are expressly encouraged to promote synergies between different research approaches.
Applications are accepted exclusively electronically via the form activated during the call and refer to a specific semester or academic year. Essential requirements include a detailed research proposal with a clear connection to the university’s research priorities as well as proof of relevant qualifications (e.g., a doctorate or equivalent research experience). Funding covers the stipend and workspace rent; travel, laboratory, and insurance costs are excluded. Selection is conducted anonymously and is based on the project’s innovativeness, its contribution to university research, and interdisciplinarity in group applications. Interest in co-financing by the home institution is welcomed and can strengthen the application. Application deadlines and all details regarding the required documents (project description, CV, co-financing information) are announced in the respective calls.
