Description
General Support for Brass Music supports brass bands organized as associations in Lower Austria in maintaining and further developing their musical commitment. Within the framework of this program, replacements and new acquisitions of traditional costumes as well as historical uniforms can be realized to secure the traditional appearance of the ensembles and strengthen their concert presence. The funding is exclusively aimed at non-profit associations whose members actively participate in concert evaluations. Applications can be submitted continuously, allowing for timely implementation of investment projects. The administrative processing is carried out by the Lower Austrian Brass Music Association in close cooperation with the Office of the Lower Austrian State Government, Department F1 (Arts and Culture). This initiative aims to sustainably promote the regional brass music scene and to strengthen cultural cohesion within the communities.
Four central expenditure areas are funded: the acquisition of traditional costumes and historical uniforms, the purchase of wind and percussion instruments, necessary repairs to the instrument inventory, and the acquisition of sheet music. Through this financial support, ensembles can maintain their musical performance capabilities, guarantee technical excellence, and expand their repertoire. The funding makes an important contribution to preserving cultural heritage and enables professional participation in music competitions. Interested brass bands benefit from a transparent approval process and the expertise of experienced contacts from the Lower Austrian Brass Music Association. This not only enhances the quality of performances but also sustainably strengthens the continuation of this significant traditional culture in Lower Austria.
