Description
General Support for Wind Music in Lower Austria offers sustainably structured wind music ensembles financial assistance for the musical equipment and preservation of this traditional cultural asset. The aim of these continuously available grants is to strengthen the wind music scene in Lower Austria and to ensure musical competition at a high level. Funding is provided, among other things, for the acquisition and maintenance of traditional costumes and historic uniforms, the purchase of wind and percussion instruments, necessary repairs to the instrument inventory, as well as the procurement of sheet music. The administration is carried out by the Lower Austrian Wind Music Association on behalf of the state, with the funds being used in accordance with the objectives of the Lower Austrian Cultural Funding Act 1996 as well as the regional cultural and development concepts.
Eligible to apply are music ensembles with their seat or main residence in Lower Austria that regularly participate in concert evaluations. A prerequisite for funding is proof of a project-related own contribution or third-party financing, as well as a detailed project description including a comparison of income and expenses, a current cost estimate, and – for associations – the association’s statutes. Applications can be submitted at any time; this requires only the submission of complete documents to the Department of Arts and Culture of the Office of the Lower Austrian State Government. Through targeted support, musical diversity in Lower Austria is preserved and further developed, while both historical traditions and modern ensembles benefit equally. Interested associations can find all details on the application procedure in the guidelines of the Lower Austrian Cultural Funding Act and thus optimally prepare for their musical future.
