Description
The General Project Funding of the Federal Cultural Foundation is aimed at public and educational institutions as well as non-profit art associations, theaters, literature houses, and museums that plan innovative, non-commercial cultural and artistic projects. With a focus on international references, the program supports productions, planning, and implementation of individual events or complex event concepts in disciplines such as visual and performing arts, literature, music, film, photography, architecture, new media, as well as art and cultural-historical exhibitions. The selection of projects takes place twice a year by an independent expert jury, which makes recommendations based on artistic quality and social relevance. The foundation supports contemporary formats that enrich cultural discourse in Germany and open up new approaches.
Projects with a total volume of at least 50,000 euros are eligible for funding, provided that a secured own and/or third-party funding share of at least 20 percent is guaranteed. The application deadlines are January 31 and July 31 each year, by 12:00 noon. Eligible to apply are German and foreign institutions of any legal form, as long as the project is visible in Germany and all media are available in the German language. Interested institutions can use the electronic application to submit their project documents. Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant and contributes to the sustainable strengthening of cultural diversity in Germany.
