General Scientific Funding Lower Austria - Printing Cost Subsidy

The Lower Austrian Printing Cost Subsidy supports the publication of scientific works with a clear connection to the federal state of Lower Austria. As part of general scientific funding, printing costs and project-related expenses are covered when publications meet high standards and would not or hardly be feasible without funding. Eligible applicants include private individuals, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, as well as companies with headquarters or residence in Lower Austria. The funds are awarded indefinitely and continuously, providing creative and innovative researchers with the opportunity for financial relief in publishing their research results at any time. The focus is on scientific contributions that demonstrate a clear connection to Lower Austria in terms of topic, location, or authorship and provide added value to the regional research community. Evaluation criteria include the contribution to science, adherence to scientific quality standards, and the substantive relevance to the state of Lower Austria.

Interested parties must submit a fully completed and personally signed application form to the Finance Department of the Office of the Lower Austrian State Government. In addition to the project description, a detailed cost and financing plan as well as proof of legal form and connection to Lower Austria are required. The assessment is based on the funding guidelines of the Lower Austrian Cultural Funding Act 1996 and follows the principles of economy, appropriateness, and transparency. Successful applicants commit to proper use of funds and documentation through accounting with an income-expense overview. Thanks to the continuous submission deadlines, authors and institutions can respond flexibly to project requirements and publish their research results sustainably.
