Description
Within the framework of the Alpine Hut Expansion Funding, the State of Upper Austria supports non-profit club managements in the preservation and modernization of alpine shelters located above 800 meters above sea level. The program grants a pure subsidy covering 100% of the verifiable net costs, up to a maximum of €80,000 per applicant per year. Funding is provided for extensive renovation and maintenance work, including the refurbishment and retrofitting of safety equipment (escape ladders, lighting, fire protection, power generators, communication devices), the installation or replacement of doors and windows, as well as the modernization of sanitary facilities in sleeping quarters and kitchens. Additionally, environmentally compatible facade renovations and the construction of outdoor areas such as stairs, forecourts, and storage facilities are included in the scope of funding to secure the recreational value of the alpine natural landscape and to ensure the long-term experience of fauna and flora.
Applications can be submitted continuously as long as budgetary coverage is available. Eligible for funding are regional managements of alpine clubs in Upper Austria whose huts are located above 800 meters above sea level. The basis for the application is the form “General Nature Conservation Funding (LWLD-N/E-16),” supplemented by a comprehensive project description, a detailed cost breakdown with estimates, invoices and proof of payment, as well as the necessary official permits. Following a positive funding commitment, random inspections are conducted by the funding agency. With this permanent funding opportunity, the State of Upper Austria makes a significant contribution to raising awareness in the recreational reserve and supports the sustainable protection of alpine habitats.
