Description
The Central German Academy for Polymer Innovations annually awards outstanding theses and research papers in the field of polymer science and plastics engineering with the AMK Prize. The aim is to strengthen the transfer of knowledge from universities and colleges to the economy of the Saxony-Anhalt region. The AMK Graduation Prize is awarded for excellent bachelor's, diploma, and master's theses, as well as the AMK Science Prize for significant publications. Each award is endowed with a prize money of €500 and honors the excellence of the research achievement as well as its relevance for the transfer of ideas into industry-oriented applications.
Eligible to apply are graduates and their supervisors from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and Merseburg University of Applied Sciences, as well as employees of the Plastics Competence Center Halle-Merseburg and affiliated institutes (e.g., Max Planck Institute for Microstructure Physics, Fraunhofer Institute for Mechanics of Materials). The prerequisite is the completion of the thesis in the previous calendar year or by March 31 of the application year. For the Graduation Prize, the following must be submitted: bachelor's, diploma, or master's certificate, one copy of the thesis, and a half-page justification. For the Science Prize, additionally, the scientific career, a list of publications, copies of articles published in the last calendar year, and a half-page application justification are required. The complete documents must be submitted to the Presidium by March 31 each year to be considered in the selection process.
