Description

The state program supports relatives of people with disabilities in Burgenland who predominantly provide care within the shared household. It promotes hourly outpatient relief services through mobile nursing and care services as well as temporary partial inpatient accommodations. The goal is the physical and mental regeneration of the caregiving persons and the assurance of sustainable home care. The funding is granted as an unlimited subsidy starting from October 1, 2024, without limitation on the total duration, and is based on necessity, cost-effectiveness, and economy of resource use.

Eligible for funding are private individuals with Austrian citizenship or equivalent residency status, who can prove their main residence and actual stay in Burgenland. A degree of disability of at least 50% and a family relationship are prerequisites. Actual costs for mobile services and partial inpatient accommodation, minus any applicable deductibles, are funded. Applications can be submitted to the Office of the Burgenland State Government, Department 6 – Social Services and Disability Affairs Division, as well as to district administrative authorities or municipal offices. For the application, among other documents, proof of citizenship, birth certificate, disability assessment, and an evaluation of care needs must be provided. Decisions are made based on the legal funding requirements and established evaluation criteria. Potential applicants can find further information and forms on the service websites of the State of Burgenland.
