Description

The :do Foundation supports non-profit organizations and public institutions nationwide that enable refugees to have a dignified start in the destination country. Projects are funded that create access to accommodation, care, education, and psychosocial support, as well as reduce isolation. The focus is on measures that strengthen participation skills, facilitate the psychological processing of flight experiences, and offer community-promoting activities. Particular emphasis is placed on migrant-led initiatives that bring energy and empowerment to projects through their own experiences. Applications can be submitted at any time and are evaluated based on clearly defined criteria such as strengthening self-organization, reducing isolation, and promoting democratic participation.

The aim of the funding is to create a sustainable environment in which refugees can exercise their rights and actively engage in society. Projects should support co-determination, facilitate access to cultural and social offerings, and open up long-term perspectives. Funding is provided in the form of grants, without fixed submission deadlines, thus enabling flexible planning and implementation of initiatives. The program particularly supports activities that help refugees build community and belonging and strengthen their own resources. In this way, the :do Foundation contributes to promoting social cohesion and sustainably anchoring democratic participation.
