Description

Contact Points for Persons with Qualifications Acquired Abroad is a nationwide open grant program of the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (Section IX). Public institutional providers are funded to establish comprehensive advisory centers in accordance with § 5 AuBG. These offer multilingual information and individual support throughout the entire recognition and evaluation process, provide basic information on legal frameworks, and assist with sworn or certified translations. The instrument, budgeted at 5.609 million euros per year, aims to better utilize existing qualifications, counteract the shortage of skilled workers, and promote employment appropriate to qualifications in the Austrian labor market.

Funding is provided to public providers who wish to support persons with formal educational or professional qualifications acquired abroad. Applications can be submitted at any time. A written application in accordance with § 23 ARR 2014 is required, supplemented by a project description including the initial situation, objectives, target groups, timeline, measures, and success indicators, as well as a financial plan. In addition, evidence of professional suitability (staff structure, qualifications, job descriptions), an extract from the association or company register, organizational chart, curricula vitae, employment contracts, and a declaration of the absence of legal exclusion criteria must be submitted. The continuous funding opportunities create planning security and make a significant contribution to the integration of qualified skilled workers into the labor market.
