Description

Within the framework of a cooperation with the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), the State of Styria provides supplementary regional funding for excellently evaluated research projects at Styrian universities. Eligible for funding are all educational institutions in Styria whose projects have already been approved by the FWF. The follow-up funding covers 10% of the original FWF grant and exclusively covers personnel costs. This program thus contributes to strengthening young researchers, consolidating successful research networks, and positioning the Styria location as a leading research region in Austria in the long term. Applications can be submitted continuously, ensuring timely planning and implementation of the projects.

The following documents are required for the application: the state's application form, a current cost and financing plan (PLAN data), the FWF funding contract, and, if applicable, a funding commitment from the City of Graz. A prerequisite for funding, in addition to FWF approval, is the implementation of the project at a Styrian university. The ongoing submission procedure allows for flexible submission without fixed deadlines. Experts from business, science, and research review the formal completeness and substantive evaluation of the applications to ensure prompt approval. Interested institutions can obtain detailed information on application preparation and funding management via the website of the Department of Economy, Tourism, Science and Research of the State of Styria.
