Description
The Working Group on Economics and Law nationwide supports qualified young lawyers pursuing a doctorate in commercial, corporate, economic, or labor law. The initiative is based on the network of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft e. V., established in 1980, in which university lecturers and corporate lawyers shape the professional exchange between academia and practice. Experts from both fields select the scholarship recipients biannually and enable them to present their research findings at an annual conference. Through the combination of a doctoral scholarship, publication subsidies, and material as well as travel expense allowances, valuable impulses are generated for innovative legal questions and a close integration of theory and corporate practice.
The funding extends over twelve months and includes an annual scholarship installment of €16,800 as well as a research cost allowance of €1,200. Additionally, funds for personnel costs, printing, material, and travel expenses can be applied for. Applications must be submitted in standardized form by January 5 and May 15 each year. A prerequisite is proof of an ongoing doctoral project in the specified legal field and the complete submission of all documents according to the published funding guidelines and the data collection form. The grant is paid directly and is intended to optimally support the research work. Interested lawyers can find further information in the downloadable documents on the website of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft e. V.
