Description

The measure ARF – 4.A.1 Enhancing Primary Care – Implementation Costs (Accompanying Measures) aims to sustainably improve the working conditions for general practitioners as well as other health and social care professionals in Austria’s primary care sector, particularly in rural regions. Funding is provided for accompanying communication and public relations activities, including social media campaigns, visits to career fairs, and the organization of targeted image-building campaigns. A central element is the development and operation of a digital primary care platform serving as an information and communication hub between healthcare professionals, patient representatives, academia, administration, and other stakeholders. Additionally, change management processes are supported to accompany structural transformation in care networks, and practice-oriented applied research projects within primary care research networks are funded. These projects are implemented by medical universities and universities of applied sciences and generate insights for the entire primary care community.

Eligible for funding are public institutions and educational establishments throughout Austria, especially medical universities and universities of applied sciences, that carry out projects within the context of primary care research networks. Funding is provided in the form of a grant with ongoing application opportunities and supports expenses such as public relations, social media activities, communication campaigns, platform operation, change management processes, tendering and evaluation costs, as well as the management of applied research projects and exchange and networking events. The measure is financed from European Union funds – NextGeneration EU – and makes a significant contribution to ensuring and strengthening primary care in Austria.
