Description

As part of this initiative, accompanying measures to enhance the attractiveness of primary care in Vienna are funded in order to improve the working conditions for general practitioners as well as other health and social professionals. In particular, educational and research institutions as applicants are addressed, who implement communication campaigns, public relations including social media activities, and career fairs. Additionally, the establishment and operation of the Primary Care platform ensures a central information and exchange hub between professionals, patient representatives, science, and administration. Change management processes as well as practice-oriented applied research projects within primary care research networks are also supported, with international expert advisory boards involved in the evaluation of project proposals.

The non-repayable grant finances eligible expenses until 31.12.2026. A prerequisite for funding is the conclusion of a contract with the respective project partner. Covered are, in addition to the implementation of EU procurement law-compliant tenders, also expenses for the accompaniment and support of research projects as well as for exchange and networking events. The goal is a sustainable strengthening of primary care—especially in rural areas—through innovative communication strategies, sound change management, and networked research. Funded by the European Union under NextGeneration EU, the program makes an important contribution to securing comprehensive, multiprofessional healthcare provision.
