Description
Within the framework of the European Recovery and Resilience Facility (EU-RRF), this funding supports the construction of a state-of-the-art building complex for the Center of Precision Medicine (CPM) on the premises of AKH Vienna. With a budget of 75 million euros, both the establishment and expansion of infrastructure as well as the provision of innovative medical technologies are financed. The objective is to consolidate, implement, and continuously develop research and diagnostic methods for the development of individually tailored therapies. The project spans a duration of 48 months and is based on the contract for the establishment of the Austrian Institute of Precision Medicine between the federal government and the City of Vienna dated 20.12.2022.
The funding is addressed to the Medical University of Vienna as well as to involved research institutions and researchers in the field of precision medicine. All expenses related to building structures, medical technology equipment, and methodological approaches to diagnostics and therapy development are eligible for funding. Applications can be submitted until 31.12.2026, with the program having commenced on 20.12.2022. This creates an internationally competitive research environment that strengthens both teaching and clinical research nationally and across regions, while simultaneously laying the groundwork for future groundbreaking discoveries in personalized medicine.
