Description

ARF – Broadband Austria 2030 – Accompanying Measures offers ongoing grants in Vienna for awareness-raising activities within the framework of the Broadband Strategy 2030. Eligible for funding are companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions that wish to deepen knowledge about the opportunities and risks of modern broadband technologies. The initiative, financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, aims to increase demand for high-performance gigabit connections and to sustainably establish the importance of high-quality broadband services. The accompanying measures stimulate public administration, municipalities, civil society actors, and interested citizens in Vienna to better understand and apply the full potential of digital infrastructures. Funding is available from March 23, 2022, until the total volume is exhausted and is granted based on the special guidelines for the implementation of the program lines “Access” and “OpenNet.”

With the accompanying measures, the program strengthens communication skills on site in the long term and makes a significant contribution to the widespread availability of symmetrical gigabit access by 2030. Well-founded information dissemination reduces market uncertainties, increases interest in broadband applications, and thus helps to reduce additional funding needs. Applications must comply with the requirements set out in the special guidelines (Section 3.3), with all relevant documents for the program lines “Access” and “OpenNet” to be submitted. Interested institutions and initiatives thus receive an attractive opportunity to build consensus for a future-proof digital infrastructure in Vienna and to actively shape the Broadband Strategy 2030.
