Description

In Upper Austria, a continuously available funding opportunity is provided that specifically supports the employment of assistants in nurseries for children with special needs. Sponsors such as associations, parish communities, or municipal institutions can apply for a subsidy for wage costs. Billing takes place each February and October via the established online system for assistance hours, which simultaneously ensures automated application submission and wage cost accounting. Through the clear procedure and direct funding of personnel costs, legal entities are relieved in ensuring individual support and promotion of the children in everyday care.

Only assistants who accompany children according to the criteria of the Upper Austrian Child Education and Care Act as well as the Equal Opportunities Act are funded. A prerequisite is an application to the Integration Advisory Service of Caritas Upper Austria, which is responsible for the allocation of assistance hours. Spot checks on site ensure that the assistance service is actually provided in accordance with the service records and the presence of the children. This targeted support promotes inclusive care settings and offers legal entities a reliable financial basis to best integrate children with special needs in nurseries.
