Athlete Support (Team Olympia & Perspective Team) – Saar Sports Foundation

The athlete support program of the Saarland Sports Foundation is aimed at performance-oriented athletes from Saarland who have already achieved success at the national or international level. Within the framework of the program, athletes are supported both ideologically and financially by being admitted to the Team Olympia or the Perspective Team. The foundation covers both Olympic and Paralympic disciplines and, in justified cases, also considers non-Olympic sports. For the application, membership in the Saarland State Sports Association must be proven; furthermore, successful participation in corresponding competitions is an essential prerequisite. The evaluation criteria include, in particular, previous sporting achievements as well as a realistic prospect of participation in the Olympic or Paralympic Games.

Applications can be submitted at any time, as this is an ongoing funding opportunity. For a complete application, among other documents, the following are required: a completed application form for athlete support, proof of sporting achievements and squad memberships, a professional profile picture as well as high-resolution action photos, and a data protection consent form. The grants are awarded as subsidies and are specifically intended for preparation and participation in national and international competitions. Through this support, athletes from Saarland have the opportunity to fully exploit their potential and to present themselves in the best possible way on the road to the Olympics or Paralympics.
