Description

The NiedersachsenMetall Foundation supports general and vocational schools as well as university institutes in Lower Saxony with a one-time grant program for practice-oriented teaching equipment. The goal is to sustainably strengthen teaching and learning environments in the STEM and technology sectors and to enable a motivating, experimental approach to scientific and technical content. Funding is provided, for example, for soldering irons, thermal imaging cameras, robot kits, and other technical equipment that is difficult to accommodate within the regular budget of many educational institutions. Educational institutions and public sponsors can submit a completed funding application at any time to request financial resources for acquisitions. This allows the foundation to respond flexibly to the needs of schools and institutes and continuously supports the practical skills development of learners of all ages.

The program is explicitly aimed at general and vocational schools as well as university institutes in Lower Saxony that wish to expand their technology and STEM offerings. A prerequisite for approval is affiliation with an eligible institution within the state. Applicants only need to submit the standardized funding application to enable a review of the project-related acquisitions. The grant covers all expenses for the procurement of the required teaching materials and can be easily used alongside existing educational initiatives. Through this continuous equipment funding, practice-oriented learning concepts are to be strengthened, and pupils as well as students optimally prepared for future demands in technical professions.
