Description
The traveling exhibition “Judaism Explained” vividly conveys central aspects of Jewish religion, history, and culture. In several thematic modules, religious holidays such as Shabbat and Purim, dietary laws, Hebrew terms, as well as historical ruptures and diverse traditions are presented. Photography, interactive game elements, and original objects create a lively access point: four fabric-covered exhibition towers, seat cube puzzles, a kosher shopping basket, and an authentically staged Passover meal appeal to different senses and invite independent exploration. Complementing this, an educational accompanying program with age-appropriate workshops raises awareness among school classes of all levels about cultural diversity and makes an important contribution to antisemitism prevention. The modular design allows the exhibition to be flexibly presented on changing venues and to target different audiences specifically.
The loan is open to educational institutions and public organizations throughout Germany and can be continuously applied for. The exhibits can be transported by car, are easy to set up, and can be installed in schools, community centers, or municipal buildings. Scheduling and coordination of the educational framework take place directly through the Max Samuel House in Rostock, which, as a foundation “Meeting Place for Jewish History and Culture,” provides this offer. Through nationwide availability, a broad dialogue is to be encouraged and understanding of Jewish life sustainably strengthened.
