Description
The exhibition and catalog funding of the Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation is aimed at public museums, libraries, and exhibition venues in Germany that plan regionally significant presentations with a scholarly focus. With straightforward and continuously available grants, the foundation supports projects for the realization and accompaniment of exhibitions in order to sustainably secure their research results and make them accessible to a broad audience. Both direct exhibition costs – such as loan fees, insurance premiums, as well as installation and dismantling work – and the production of scholarly exhibition catalogs, which document and permanently archive the knowledge gained, are funded. Through this form of financing, the foundation contributes to increasing the visibility of innovative research projects in the visual arts and strengthens cultural mediation at the national level.
Eligible for funding are non-profit sponsors as public institutions or non-governmental organizations. A prerequisite is the demonstrated supraregional relevance of the planned exhibition project as well as the scholarly output, which is further conveyed through an accompanying publication. Applications can be submitted at any time, providing project-related planning security and enabling timely decisions. The Ernst von Siemens Art Foundation was established in 1983 as a private foundation under civil law and is characterized by generous resources and prompt funding practices. With its exhibition and catalog funding, it makes a significant contribution to presenting and sustainably preserving important artworks, manuscript holdings, and research approaches for both the professional community and interested visitors alike.
