The goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic research location and to establish an innovative healthcare system. Projects in the thematic areas of digitalization in healthcare, new pharmaceuticals and medical devices, as well as clinical studies, are funded with grants of up to €3,000,000. Submissions can be made at any time until no later than December 18, 2026, 12:00 PM.
Eligible applicants are natural or legal persons outside the federal administration with a place of business or branch in Austria. For consortium projects, at least one Austrian partner is required; civil law partnerships are not eligible to apply. A cost–time–financing plan as well as proof of economic viability are prerequisites for application. Application documents include a business plan, CVs, project description, and a detailed cost and financing plan. Funded are third-party costs, costs for equipment use, material and supplies costs, personnel costs, as well as travel expenses. Through comprehensive support of experimental development and industrial research, Austrian Life Sciences contributes to rapidly transferring innovative research results into patient-oriented applications and sustainably expanding the international networking of the Austrian life sciences sector.
