In Bavaria, the foundation cooperates with 22 middle, secondary, and grammar schools in regions such as Kaufbeuren, Marktoberdorf, Landsberg am Lech, and Weilheim-Schongau; in Thuringia with ten regular schools, grammar schools, and a vocational school in the Wartburg district and Eisenach; in Poland, it honors top graduates at three schools in Gliwice, including the Górnoslaskie Centrum Edukacyjne, the Zabrzańskie Centrum Kształcenia Ogólnego i Zawodowego, and the Zespół Szkół Techniczno-Informatycznych.

Those primarily interested are private individuals who have achieved their school leaving certificate with top grades at one of the aforementioned partner schools. A prerequisite for an award is an outstanding final grade or first place in the respective graduating class. Funding opportunities are ongoing, allowing applications to be submitted at any time. Selection is based on school grades, with the foundation placing particular emphasis on transparency and fairness. With this award program in the field of education and vocational & further training, the Frank Hirschvogel Foundation sends a clear signal for recognition of achievement and supports motivated young people in their academic and later professional development.
