AWS Equity Capital enables promising Austrian start-ups to realize their growth and internationalization plans with substantial venture capital. The aws Founding Fund participates together with experienced co-investors in young companies and provides initial investments ranging from 500,000 to 1,500,000 euros. In total, up to 5 million euros per investment can be utilized through follow-up financings. The funds are primarily intended for the market launch of innovative products and services, the development of sales structures, the establishment of production facilities, securing working capital, and the exploration of new markets. Submissions are accepted on an ongoing basis, allowing business projects to be flexibly submitted for review.

Funding is provided to start-ups headquartered in Austria that are younger than seven years, employ fewer than 50 people, and have both annual turnover and balance sheet total below 10 million euros. A founder’s equity stake of at least 25% as well as a proven proof of concept or proof of market are essential. Furthermore, a highly scalable business model, a high-volume, growth-oriented target market, and clearly defined financial and operational milestones must be present. Selection is based on scalability, market potential, founder commitment, and a detailed implementation plan. With this funding, young companies receive not only financial support but also benefit from the expertise and network of aws and its co-investors to sustainably establish themselves in the market and continue to grow.
