aws i2 Business Angels

aws i2 Business Angels provides an independent, neutral platform for the structured and transparent matching of innovative start-ups with financially strong and experienced investors. The goal is to enable promising start-up projects throughout Austria to access equity financing ranging from EUR 100,000 to EUR 1,000,000, thereby promoting valuable collaborations at the innovation location. The platform is open to companies and founders whose product or service already has initial paying test customers and is characterized by a technology or business model innovation with a clear unique selling proposition. Furthermore, the offering must be (highly) scalable and address a large or new market. Participation requires a company headquarters or branch in Austria as well as the creation of an aws Connect profile and a business plan.

Within the i2 process, up to 700 projects are reviewed annually, resulting in around 20 investments. Selected start-ups receive structured investment summaries – supplemented by a pitch deck or pitch video – which are sent to a pool of over 400 investors. Additionally, the platform offers co-investment opportunities, where existing investors can attract further partners for joint engagements. Regular events such as the Connect Day, the Business Angels Summit, or the Business Angel Day also facilitate personal exchange and expand the network. Registration with aws i2 Business Angels is possible online at any time via aws Connect, free of charge for start-ups, and open until 31.12.2026.
