Description
The Barrier-Free Workplace Adaptation Initiative for People with Disabilities targets companies as well as private individuals in Vienna and supports measures in the fields of work, social affairs, and health. The focus is on people with disabilities who either want to secure an existing workplace in the long term or open up new professional prospects through barrier-free equipment and qualified training. The funding supports the acquisition of personal and mobile technical work aids that compensate for disability-related functional limitations and strengthen existing abilities, as well as accompanying further training measures. As a grant, the measure has been continuously applicable since January 1, 2022, and is based on the guidelines of the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection for professional participation. The unlimited application deadline allows for flexible planning of barrier-free workplace designs.
Funded are personal and mobile technical work aids (devices, software) that compensate for disability-related functional impairments, strengthen existing competencies, and increase occupational safety. Typical examples include barrier-free hardware and software solutions, ergonomic work equipment, lifting devices, or voice assistance systems. Additionally, training costs for the proper use of the aids as well as job-accompanying further education that contributes to successful workplace participation are supported. A prerequisite for approval is compliance with the general principles and funding requirements of the Ministry of Social Affairs according to the guidelines on "Professional Participation." The funding volume is unlimited and budgeted without upper limits, allowing both companies and private individuals to benefit equally from continuous financial support.
