Description
The FFG basic programs offer unlimited funding opportunities in Upper Austria, Salzburg, and Vienna as grants for economically exploitable research and innovation projects. Funding is available to Austrian companies from all sectors, research and educational institutions, as well as individual researchers working independently or in cooperation on technologically demanding projects. Applications can be submitted electronically at any time via the eCall system. The focus is on initiatives and program lines such as Feasibility Studies, Young Experts, or Start-Up, which implement research policy objectives and raise the technology level in areas with weak research activity. The annual ex-post evaluation of utilization results and employment effects ensures transparent impact monitoring.
The funding objective is to intensify research activities and successfully commercialize results. Evaluation criteria include the degree of innovation, technical complexity, commercialization prospects, and contribution to increasing research capacities. A prerequisite for application is a company location in Austria as well as proof of innovation content and technical demand. Funds are awarded on a project basis and are subject to the FFG guidelines for the promotion of research, technology, development, and innovation. Electronic submission via eCall is sufficient for applicants; supplementary documents must comply with the requirements of the FFG guidelines. The basic programs thus continuously support knowledge and technology transfer in future-relevant industries and strengthen Austria’s research-oriented economic landscape.
